I had them on in a couple of hours. Make sure you use the lock nuts provided for the bottom since there is no nut welded on like the old shock. They gave me 2 each nuts all are for the bottom of the strut. Went in ok without any major issue. You will need a jack under the swing arm to raise the shock so you can get your bolt lined up. I figure that out after a few minutes. Rides really nice again. The Quick Strut comes completely assembled and ready to install. Since I already had experience doing the front struts the rears struts were easier to do. I suggest having two floor jacks. One heavy duty to jack the car and the other light duty to support the struts. Remember to use jack stands to support the vehicle. The front strut bolts are all easy to access, but a heavy duty breaker bar or impact wrench are necessary to remove the two large bolts. If you have rust on the bolts start using a pentrating oil days in advance of the installation. The instructions from Monroe was adequate, but you need to read them carefully the first time. I is helpful to have a repair manual for you specific car for the finer points. The rear struts top tower screws are accessed only after you remove tne the right and left side seat bolsters. I wish they had done this (complete assembly) years ago. Couldn't be simpler - three top bolts and the bottom cross bolt. When you install it - leave the top three bolts (actually, nuts) loose until you align and install the bottom bolt. Caveat - check if your bottom bolt is rusted in - you're in for a real job getting it out if it is (soak with PB Blaster). Also - in the T-Bird, you have to separate the top ball joint in order to install the strut - may as well replace the upper control arm while you are at it. Make sure you have an 18mm wrench (not in a lot of wrench sets) for the upper control arm bolts. They are not listed on this site for an ES300 (they are listed for a Camry 6 cyl) but I first checked with Monroe and they told me this is the correct one as the Lexus has the 6 cyl. and needs the heavier spring of this unit. Amazon lists the 171678 for the Lexus but manufac. tells me that is not correct and is for the 4 cyl Camry. Anyway, these things are great. Once you raise the car and remove a few bolts this unit bolts right in. A complete front end solution that takes maybe 20 min to 30 min per side. No spring compressors or special tools needed. You do have to get an alignment of course when done. Only 500 miles on them so far but the car feels and sounds like when it was new. No more clunking and top seat rattle/noise. Very easy and given the excellent price on Amazon, this is a no brainer. Everything assembled so all you have to do is:Tools:-Ratchet set plus extra wrench/ratchet to hold other side of bolt (3/8 I think and mainly 3/4 and something small for top nuts)-Torque Wrench (optional, but good to have)-Torch (if it's really rusty on the knuckle nuts)-WD40 or similar lubricant (don't get any on the rotor!)-Punch tool or something similar (to knock bolt out other side if it gives you trouble)-Hammer-Flat pry bar (may come in handy to move strut around if you find yourself stuck just be careful for cv boot)-Pick or similar tool to scratch off rust and grease (small flathead works)Removal:-Take off your wheel (loosen lug nuts before jacking car up!)-Using pliers, remove the brake line retention clip from the strut (just look for the hose attached to the strut. Due to the simplicity of the Quick Strut, it made installation a breeze. The hardest part was getting the rusted nuts off of the old strut first. I would definitely recommend in having a breaker bar close by. BTW make sure you have a good socket set too. I had one of those 1/2 $30 socket sets from Lowes and the 19mm socket cracked because the rusted nuts were were stronger then it :( Once I got the bolts off, the Quick-Strut was too easy to install. Once I pulled the old shock off, I realized that I had made the right decision in investing in replacing the whole shock due to dismal condition the old shock was in. I emailed both Amazon and Monroe and received no reply. Since I emailed from their own web sites I could not make a copy of the emails sent.
